Intermediate Java Developer
We are looking for a well-rounded IT professional to join us and grow their technical skills while making the world a better place. Reporting directly to the software development director of Canada East Information Technology Services branch, the Intermediate Java Developer will be involved in large-scale integration and software development projects with our clients.
The ideal candidate will be well versed in agile development practices and will have an appreciation for the full lifecycle including planning, technical design, construction, peer reviews, documentation, testing and deployment.
Core Role Responsibilies
As a member of Canada East Information Technology Services, the Intermediate Java Developer will have a broad range of responsibilities. These include, but are not limited to:
Design, develop and implement software components and integration artifacts
Perform data migration and produce related code, scripts and transforms
Meet project deadlines by understanding and analyzing requirements, designing, developing and testing solutions
Contribute to the team and ensure mutual success by providing guidance for development, testing and troubleshooting
Provide status reports and escalate issues as appropriate to the relevant project stakeholders
Other tasks and duties as may be required.
Typical Skills and Qualifications
Skills and qualifications will include the following:
5+ years of Java development
Experience with Java Enterprise development (J2EE)
Web Services (SOAP and RESTful)
SQL, XML and JSON
Experience with Oracle databases
Experience with unit testing
Experience with Agile development
Ability to learn quickly
Nice to have:
Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
Experience with HL7V3
