Background

Integration is a core component of the services that Gevity Consulting provides to its key clients in support of large projects. Gevity Consulting’s integration methodology begins with an integration strategy which identifies the client’s current state, future state, and corresponding gaps and provides a plan to get the client to the desired end state. Gevity Consulting will project manage the integration project, including managing external vendors, requirements definition, any required workflow re-design, interface development, testing and go-live support.

Gevity Consulting is looking for technical individuals who are willing to learn new skills integrating clinical and financial healthcare data using industry standard and proprietary vendor products.

Job description

Gevity seeks an experienced Project Manager (Interoperability) for full-time employment within the Gevity team. We are open to applicants from the East Coast of the United States and will consider applicants anywhere in Eastern Canada (Ontario, Quebec or the Maritimes).  Applications from candidates seeking occasional freelance work will also be considered.

As a Project Manager (Interoperability) you will oversee the planning, implementation and tracking of specific integration projects for Gevity clients including Health Information Exchanges (HIE). You will take a leadership role in all aspects of project management including planning and implementing the project; applying project controls to ensure appropriate reporting and communications with project stakeholders and managing the budget and preparation of financial reports.

More specifically, as a Project Manager (Interoperability), you will:

  • Manage Integration and Health Information Exchange (HIE) planning and implementation projects;
  • Maintain all appropriate project deliverables and responsibilities, for example, project scheduling, risk management, change management, issue management and status reporting;
  • Monitor project implementations for accuracy and timeliness to ensure the focus on successfully achieving project goals - including compliance with grant reporting requirements;
  • Oversee all aspects of execution, including identifying and solving problems that would otherwise delay the provision of new services - assuring the projects are on-budget, on-time, and delivered with the expected value to the practices and stakeholders;
  • Assist with resource allocation and budgeting;
  • Lead/facilitate steering committee meetings and ad-hoc workgroups;
  • Oversee vendor relationships to ensure success of technology implementations;
  • Apply knowledge and skills related to current healthcare interoperability standards, activities, issues, and trends;
  • Anticipate and respond to customer needs and continually ensure customer satisfaction;
  • Identify opportunities for new projects and/or “add on” work with existing clients;
  • Support the development of intellectual property and coordinate corporate development initiatives;
  • Build relationships with team members and provide ideas and best practices that can benefit the team.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Five years of progressive work experience and a proven track record in the implementation and management of integration-related information technology solutions;
  • Strong background in the healthcare industry, specifically with interoperability and HIE architecture and operations;
  • Familiarity with national and state healthcare initiatives and services; 
  • Ability to develop technical documentation;
  • Experience with interoperability standards such as HL7 v2/v3, IHE Profiles, FHIR, X12, etc.;
  • Experience with InterSystems Caché, Ensemble, and HealthShare products is a plus;
  • Experience in a high-volume messaging environment is a plus.;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
