Senior Business Analyst

The senior business analyst position requires an individual who is able to collect business requirements from multiple sources, and then critically evaluate information gathered, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying business needs. This individual interprets business needs and translates them into application and operational requirements; collaborates with subject matter experts to establish the vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs. They are the liaison between the business community, the technical solution providers and the support team. They possess strong communication skills and have the ability to bring stakeholders to consensus and guide them through change.

 

Position Requirements

·       Collection, documentation and analysis of the current state and the future state of clinical processes by means of documenting business process flows and models in collaboration with multi-disciplinary stakeholders

·       Analysis of process gaps, information flow obstacles and identification of opportunities for increased efficiency

·       Ability to document requirements in use case format

·       Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences

·       Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships

·       Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal

·       Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations

·       Evaluate and ensure user readiness

·       Manage stakeholders

·       Track and report issues

·       Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress

·       Support change management at the organizational level

·       Support and engage senior leaders

·       Support training effort

·       Reporting activity status to a management level

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

·       Post-secondary education in Health Informatics, Information Management or Information Technology (or equivalent)

·       Prosci, CBAP or PMP certifications an asset

·       Senior Business Analysts require 7+ years of business analysis experience in the healthcare industry

·       Strong leadership and ability to facilitate focus groups to determine requirements and priorities

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·       The ability to effectively deal with remote teams and users

·       Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools

·       Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

·       Excellent active listening skills

·       Familiar with Public Health
